WASHABLE RUG ROUND UP

Area rugs can really bring so much warmth, texture and color to a space. But dang, have you seen how much some of them cost? It's hard to spend so much money on an item that is more than likely going to take a pretty good beating. Kids, pets and life in general happen. Spills will happen, muddy prints will happen.

Enter: washable rugs. While washable rugs are not a new concept, they have certainly come a long way. They used to be a lot thinner and cheaper looking. But the quality has improved so much! The ones from Rugs USA are my personal favorite. I have owned two for almost 3 years now and let me tell you - they have been put through it. They are both in our eat-in kitchen area (so, super high traffic in our house) and have had their fair share of mac and cheese and spaghetti sauce spilled on them. I have lost count of how many times I've washed them and they are still well intact and their color has held strong. What I love, too, is how easy they are to pull up and put back down, as opposed to another well known washable rug brand (which I have owned, as well). And the price is really good! There are often sales, too, so that's a huge bonus.

My recommendation would be to purchase a non-slip rug pad to place underneath. This one is pretty affordable and has held up well. Our rugs have stayed in place even with our 140 lb dog running across them. I was able to cut and trim them down to fit perfectly underneath, too.

Here's a look at some of my Rugs USA favorites right now. They all come in a wide variety of sizes, too, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding the right fit for your space. If you're not planning a home renovation or mini-makeover, these might just spark the idea!
